Matt ghazi

Matt is a data scientist and software engineer who specialises in turning complex geospatial datasets into actionable intelligence. Since joining ArborCarbon in 2023, he has combined advanced coding and machine learning with remote sensing and GIS to deliver innovative tools for vegetation monitoring and management.

With a Bachelor in Software Engineering and a Master of Data Science, Matt brings expertise in Python, SQL, R, and modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Scikit-Learn. His work includes developing deep learning pipelines for aerial image analysis, tree crown delineation frameworks, and species classification models — all designed to give clients early, accurate insights into environmental change.

Proficient across cloud platforms (AWS), geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, Rasterio, GDAL), and visualisation tools (Power BI, Excel), Matt ensures ArborCarbon’s data solutions are both technically rigorous and accessible to decision-makers. His ability to integrate cutting-edge analysis with practical applications makes him a vital contributor to ArborCarbon’s role as a leader in environmental technology.
